The OCIA program is for adults ages 18+ who are NOT baptized.
This is a 2-year program.
Participants will be prepared to receive the three Sacraments of Initiation:
Baptism
First Communion
Confirmation
OCIA is a gradual process for people who want to join the Cathlic Church and confess the Catholic faith. Participants (or "catechumens") will be guided to slowly understand the Catholic Faith, with the goal of developing an awareness to God's call to conversion and an understanding of the ways in which they can respond to that call. This process follows the ancient practice of the Church and was restored by the Second Vatican Council.
**There is also a 1-year process for those who are Baptized but unchatechized and would like to receive their First Communion and/or Confirmation (see below).
There are classes in both English and Spanish.
Confirmation Preparation
The Confirmation program for adults is a one-year program.
This program is for adults ages 18+ who have received the Sacrament of Baptism.
The Sacrament of Confirmation completes the baptismal grace and confers the Holy Spirit on the baptized.
Participants are prepared to consciously and voluntarily accept the faith and the grace they received at Baptism. They are guided to discover the blessings of a new life in Christ, to become true disciples of Him, and to accept and use the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
